The award for the best teacher in the selection process of the best teacher is to be given at the taluka, district level and state level keeping in view the experience of 15 years. The education department has also made significant changes in it. Under this change, a teacher with 5 years experience at taluka level, 10 years experience at district level and 15 years experience at state level will be able to register for the award as the best teacher.

The training of a teacher becomes obsolete with the passage of time after training in a training college. With the changing currents in education, new inventions and researches are also taking place in the field of education. Thus changes in the curriculum should provide adequate opportunities to the teacher during his tenure to cope with the changes that are born in the field of education. A teacher who is not ready to meet the new changes cannot be called a true teacher. Therefore, the kind of training that is given to the teacher during his tenure to enhance his professional ability and skills to introduce new ideas, methods, principles etc. in education is called in-service training.

The Department of Education has made another significant change in the criteria for the selection of the best teacher with a new approach. Accordingly, state government, non-government, aided primary school teachers who cannot participate in taluka, district and state awards but are doing excellent academic work, are active in school co-curricular activities, innovative experiments, social contribution, etc. Certificate will be given as 'Teacher'. Thus, about 3500 teachers will be awarded as talented teachers every year.
Talented Teacher Certificate will be selected as per cluster and per session / head teacher in the state and such selected teacher will be given such certificate once during his tenure.
Based on these important changes made by the education department in the selection criteria for the best teacher, teachers from all over the taluka, district and state will be selected for the best teacher award on the next Teacher's Day and will be honored with the best teacher award on September 2018.
